What we promise, and what we ask

What this service does

We take HTML, Markdown and CSS files and images, and turn them into a link only the people you send it to can open. No sign-up. Up to 100 files and 25 MB in one link.

Shared links are kept out of search engines. The address is a random string long enough that it cannot be guessed.

How long we keep it

Every time someone opens the link, the deadline moves further out. Once nobody has opened it before the deadline, the whole link goes automatically.

• Without an account: 7 days, extended on every open, but gone 30 days after you created it
• With an account: 30 days, extended the same way, but gone one year after you created it
• Shares that carry a flag (see below) are never extended

Deleted means gone

Once a file expires, we don't have it either. Always keep your own copy. Quietly is a way to hand something over, not a place to keep it.

What you must not share

Please don't put any of this in a link.

• Anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights
• Pages built to deceive — impersonating a real company or service to collect passwords or card numbers
• Executables, or programs hidden behind obfuscated code
• Other people's personal information, without their consent

We stop things at the door, and close them at the exit

Two mechanisms enforce the rules. Nobody reads your files to make that call.

• At the door: a machine checks every file once, before we take it. Clear-cut abuse (obfuscated programs, executables, a page that names a real service next to a credential field) is refused outright. Ambiguous cases (a bare password field, a form that posts somewhere else, an immediate redirect) are accepted but flagged
• At the exit: when reports pile up, the link stops opening by itself. Three separate people for an ordinary share, one for a flagged share

When a share stops opening

We don't delete the file when reports suspend it. Deleting would leave nothing behind if a share were taken down out of spite. It expires on its usual schedule instead.

Your own private link shows you that it happened. If it makes no sense to you, write to the address on the operator page.

Deleting it yourself

Every share comes with a private link that only you get. Open it to delete the file immediately, without waiting for the deadline. We can only show you that link once, so keep it — and don't send it to anyone.

What we don't guarantee

Quietly is free and provided as it is today. It may stop or change without notice.

Except where we cause harm deliberately or through gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from downtime, faults, or files removed at their deadline.

They may. We announce significant changes on the top page. The date we last edited this page is at the bottom.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
